Introduction
Most Commission Reports or Proceedings on Indlaw are in Adobe
Portable Document Format (PDF). The program, Acrobat Reader, will launch to view
the file when a search result is clicked. Click on the title link of the search results
to access the Article in pdf document format. (If you don't have Adobe Acrobat
on your computer, you'll be directed to a web page where you can download it
for free.)
Unlike other Indlaw databases, the Indlaw Reports and Proceedings Database will be searched on the basis of Title, Chairman of the Committee / Judge, Committee Members, Body / Organisation, Date of Report, Keywords, Law / Subject, Industry or State/ Jurisdiction all of which are indexed into the search engine. The parts of a PDF file that don't get indexed are the table of contents, graphics within the file and text included as part of the graphics within the file.
Search Tips
Search by Title
If you know the title of the reports and proceedings you are searching for, then enter the Title of the Reports or Proceedings in this field to narrow your search for the specific report of a Government Committee, Commission of Enquiry, Law Commission of India or proceedings of a Commission in a given area.
Search by Chairman of the Commission
If you want reports set up on a specified subject by a particular Chairman of the Committee, then you need to enter the name of the Chairman of the Committee in this field.
Eg. Justice B. P. Jeevan Reddy
Search by Commission /Committee Members
This field requires the name of the other Members of the Committee set up to give report on the specified subject.
Eg. by entering the name Leila Seth , Ghatate and Vishwanathan it would be possible to search for Reports in which Justice Leila Seth (Retd.) , Dr. N. M. Ghatate or Mr. T. K. Vishwanathan were members.
Search by Body / Organization
This field refers to the organisation that submits the Report. Choose
from the probable broad list of Statutory and Non Statutory Commissions,Industry
Sponsored Committees and Government Commissions as indicated in the drop down
menu.

Search by Date
Enter the date of report or proceedings in this field to narrow your search for reports and proceedings delivered within a specified time period.
Search by Keywords
/ Bench
This field allows you to search for reports or proceedings using phrases,
concepts or principles to retrieve the most statistically relevant report from report
databases. Simply type the principle / concept / word and click GO. Indlaw will
display the Reports that most closely matche the concepts in your description.
Eg. In case you wish to retrieve a report on Women's Rights submitted
by the Law Commission of India, all one has to do is to enter the word "women's
rights" or "Gender" in the Search field for "Keywords" to retrieve the most relevant
Reports of the Law Commission of India.
Depending on what you wish to search, you could further refine your search for
the most relevant Report, by clicking on the Report concerned that matches your
nearest requirement.
Search by Laws
This field is used to restrict the search to a restricted number of Indlaw's proprietary

for industries', sectors' or product specific reports and proceedings from specific
