Introduction
Most Legal Forms on Indlaw are in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file format. The program, Acrobat Reader, will launch to view the file when a search result is clicked. Click on the Form title link of the search results to access the Article in .pdf document format. (If you don't have Adobe Acrobat on your computer, you'll be directed to a web page where you can download it for free.)
Unlike other Indlaw database, the Indlaw Forms Database will be searched on the basis of Law, Form Number, Title / Subject, Parent Act, Section and Keywords all of which are indexed into the search engine.
Search by Law
This field is used to restrict the search among only those
forms listed in the Indlaw subject (law) specific databases listed in
the drop down menu Box. To see a complete list of the
subject (law) specific databases click here.
Search by Form Number
Please enter this field when you know the number of the
form you are looking for.
Eg. 1, 23A, 32...
Search by Title / Subject
Enter the Subject / Title of the Form or a keyword in the
Form to narrow your search for the specific form you are searching for.
Eg. you can either enter - Declaration of compliance with the requirements of the Companies Act, 1956 on application for registration of a company or
Enter Declaration of compliance or
Enter application for registration of a company
Search by Parent Act
If you want to search for a Form on the basis of the Primary Legislation
under which the Form has been notified, you need to type the name of the
legislation in the "Parent Act" field in the Forms Search Form
Eg. Companies Act,1956
Income Tax Act, 1961
Search by Section
If you want to further refine your search for a Form on the basis of a particular provision
of the legislation, you need to type the name of the legislation in the "Parent Act"
search field and thereafter type the Section / Provision number in the "Section"
Field of the Forms Search.
Eg. Enter Companies Act, 1956 in the Parent Act field and enter 21 in the Section field to restrict your search to forms under Section 21 of the Companies Act, 1956.
Search by Keywords
This field allows you to search for Form using phrases, concepts
or principles to retrieve the most statistically relevant Form from the forms
databases. Simply type the principle / concept / word and click GO. Indlaw will
display the Form that most closely matches the concepts in your description.
Eg. in case you wish to retrieve a Form relating to copyright, all you have to do is
to enter the word "copyright" in the "Keyword" field
to retrieve the most relevant Form.
Thereafter, you can retrieve the appropriate form by clicking on
the hyperlink to the Form, from the list of nearest matches that
have been retrieved by the Forms search engine.
